self centered and close minded people
I kinda like to believe that most problems are caused by them. That and ignorant and apathetic idiots.
To me being apathetic is worse that being ignorant, because you are being ignorant by choice. You dont want to know what is going on by choice when you can and maybe do something about it.
Self centered and close minded people are quite all over the place. These are the folks that misintepret whatever you say into something that they think goes against them and their religion/country/race/insert cliche here. And explain as you may, they will not listen and continue to "champion" their point/cause/reason as if that is the only thing that matters in the whole wide world even when it has already been debunked. These people like to believe that everything they think/do/say is right even when it is very wrong and wont hear a word from you. You can reason out with them but they would only get angry and hold on to any shards of the same point that you have already broken. Thing is, ideologies and merely tools. You dont bloody carry a screwdriver with you all the time even when you dont need it like when you're in the toilet, when you're sleeping or when you're eating. Once the ideology has served your purpose, ditch it because its no longer needed. Theories are theories because they are unproven. If they were, they would be called as law. Quoting them and supplying your own reasoning is always welcomed, quoting theories without them just proves that you dont have a spine and you need to depend on people's ideologies. And oh, ideologies and theories are not for starting an arguement with someone to show off how philosopical you are. It is for daily use. Committed into daily thought. Incorporated into life so that you can have a better one. For application. You can quote all the bloody books in the world and still act and think like an immature 5 year old tard when you're 20-30 years old and make everyone around hate you for all you care because you make life miserable for them with your bloody arrogance. I've met quite a lot of people who are close minded and self centered, acting as if the world must follow their standards and that they are always right while people who say that they are wrong are wrong. 80% of the people I met are of this nature and I'm only too happy to ditch them or them ditching me.
I've always respected people like ron, mabel and missizzy because they ARE capable of reasoning and standing on their own feet without ever having to play the quoting game. I dont bloody respect someone who only has ideologies only when he or she wants to bloody find an arguement with me and at the end of the day dosent practise what he or she preaches or become defensive and angry when probed a little further. When I mean reasoning is to work a path from the other person's point and prespective to your point and prespective of that matter, not just bash and stomp the other person's point and prespective. That is reasoning. Not just shut off the other person and go on automated mode and keep blabbering what you think is right.
Self centered people like to misintepret anything they read or come across into their own agenda. They can even go to the extent of quoting holy books and putting them in a way that it would make them sound right. But notice I used the word "sound", because the holy texts are often misintepreted. They would assume that everything you talk about is about them when it is not. Pretty much an idiotic asshole as I would put it. Best of all, they refuse to listen to reason and get all defensive. Good points can always conform to all kinds of reasoning instead of stopping in its tracks. best thing is, they never heard of what is the benefit of the doubt, in which you give space for other reasoning before you shut people off blatantly.
Funny thing about these people is that they never ask or check if their intepretation of the matter is correct. They never check if the way they put their ideology or mentality is correct, or the way they use and see it has problems. They just do what makes them happy. It is not the text that is the most important but rather how you intepret it. You can be given the purest and holiest text in the world and still act like an idiot and think like one if your intepretation of things is screwed up. And very often they do not have the guts to double check. It is funny how they consider that whatever they say or do is always correct and that everyone else is always wrong. They never consider that the reason why people cant agree with them is maybe because those other people see something they dont. They think they have the best and most absolute point of view. Points and views can only be tested by dicussion with someone else and not just self-challenge. Because the human mind can only favour one direction although it can see both ways and you will never know which way is right or wrong. Until you see both ways completely. So, self challenging your points is just a big joke. It only makes you more holed up in your own world.
These people can be of any age, race or religion. No specfics. But one thing they all have in common is the holier than thou additute and getting defensive when someone challenges their views. They are everywhere. In fact, I see them popping up in the blogroll of some of my friends. Some pretend to be oh-so-nice in their blog but when you chat up with them, they turn out to be egoistic, shallow and self centered. I dont really judge people but basically, that is what I see. I dont know, maybe they are good and nice people but that side of them is all I see. And I dont keep impressions. I just dont have the time to listen to someone justify about something whose flaws are obvious and who refuses to listen to reason. I'm open minded in the sense that I can accept whatever you throw at me, but just that I will need to verify if it is credible by asking about what you want to present to me. If you are able to give me a good answer instead of going defensive, I will accept that point. Shallow people who try to debate on philosophy with me often fail at that stage and often revert to attacking me on a personal level or go defensive. If you fit the bill, you are. end of story.
This post is targeted to the self centered and close minded people. If you think it fits your description, then it does. If you dont, it dosent. And for the last bloody time, the post is not directed at anyone in a specific matter. Assume what you like because you're only hurting yourself.

Self centered and close minded people are not the only ones causing trouble. Egoistic people who have no idea of how to handle their own ego are also one of the causes of conflicts in history. Those that claim this and that of themselves but never wanting to accept public criticism with a humble mind also wreck the world as it is. And finally, people who spend all their lives complaining, defining and theorizing about the world without actual participation too possess the potential to wreck havoc upon the world with their ignorance.

*nods* true.
Critisism is important for improvement in more ways than one. It is only through feedback from critisism that one knows of one’s mistakes. Thanks for reminding me on that
I appreciate the enlightening revelation. About the complaining part, complaining yet doing nothing to elevate that or complaining about something that no one can change is considered as useless. There are a few types complaints, namely complaining to find out the cause, complaining as a reminder and complaining for the sake of it. Depending on which type, complaining can be constructive or destructive.
I do agree with defining and theorizing part tho. Is the theories are not feasible or tangible to be applied in daily life, it can be very destructive. However, one must remember that when in daily life one encounters a mind-boggling situation and need to find an answer, there is where theories and definitions comes in. Once that situation has been answered, the theories and definitions have served their purpose and it is time to move on with life.
Thats just my opinion. Actually, everything in my blog are merely opinions. I welcome you to help me correct my opinions/views/prespectives if they are wrong, but there must be solid reasoning behind the corrections.

I won’t correct them – they are your opinions and you are welcomed to have your view on the world. As long as we are humble and remind ourselves that our opinions might eventually be proven wrong, there is no limit to our development. Good luck.

that is what I always keep in mind. I constantly remind myself that whatever I know might not be true and I’m always prepared to ditch it when there is something better
